Dog Policy
We are delighted to welcome your four-legged friends to the Castle, for a small charge of £30 per dog per stay.
In order to respect subsequent guests who may not appreciate dogs, we do make the following requests:
Pets are welcome to sleep in any of the three following bedrooms; Howard, Kitson and Warren. Alternatively, they are welcome to stay in the ‘boot’ room.
Please bring any special equipment that your dog may require - toys, leads, food etc. We do provide a bed, towel, bowls and treats for your dog, but we appreciate that some dogs like their ‘own’ comforts. If you do bring your own dog bed, please could you make sure it is clean before it goes into our bedrooms. Some dogs carry a unique doggy-smell that can ‘linger’ with their bed.
We kindly request that dogs do not go on the beds or furniture, or into any other bedroom.
Pets are welcome to join you throughout the downstairs rooms (with the exception of the commercial kitchen), but please do not allow them onto the furniture.
You are very welcome to walk your dog around the grounds on a lead. The estate is home to much local wildlife, which does not always appreciate being chased.
Please ensure that you “bag-and-bin” or “stick-and-flick” into the undergrowth. Bins are located around the Castle and the immediate grounds. Sticks are plentiful!
Pets should not be left unaccompanied in your bedroom.
You will be liable for any damage caused by your pet during your stay, we suggest you have insurance to cover this.
Please refrain from using your bathroom to clean your dog. Hot and cold water taps, and a hose can be found outside in the courtyard. Dog towels are provided for your use, and to dry dogs before entering the castle after wet or muddy walks.
We allow up to two dogs per room, and no more than four dogs in total.
If you are attending an event at Pentillie, for example a wedding, we do recommend hiring a ‘dog nanny’ so that you can enjoy the celebrations without worrying about leaving your dog unaccompanied for long periods of time.
Our two black labradors Red and Tamu would be delighted to show your four-legged friends the best walks, how to get really muddy, and where to find the most interesting smells! They are generally only here during the working week. However, if your dog is timid with other dogs please let us know and we can facilitate a gentle introduction to suit your dog.
If you have any questions about your bringing your dog to Pentillie, or would like to ask about ‘dog nanny’ options, please do not hesitate to get in touch - 01579 350044 or info@pentillie.co.uk.
